Run! -  I can't believe how fast March break went by.  Charlie and I rode our bikes to the park to meet some friends on Friday.  He missed his buddies.

Get Back - It's probably hard for my kids to believe this, but I am always on their side: even when they are grounded.  It will be even harder for them to believe that when they are grounded, I am their biggest ally.  I ground them because I want what is best for them.  I ground them to help them get back to their best selves.

Little Sister - John and I had a great visit with Donna and my big brother.  Seriously, I love saying that.  Big Brother.

New Tricks-  The Little Man has been out bike riding with his dad.  Which is probably a good thing.  Because he would never have attempted (I would never have encouraged) his new trick -
a POP-A-FREAKIN-WHEELIE.

In My Footsteps -
"I haven't taken a picture yet today." I said to Kenzie.
"We can go to Kerncliff." she answered with a smile.
Because she looks to me, because she walks in my footsteps, because I see myself in her, I strive to be a better person.

I Can Almost Taste It - Longer days, playing outside after dinner.  Warmer temperatures, it feels more like May than March.  I can almost taste it, Summer.

Courage - I am anxious girl.  If I were a Muppet, I would be Telly monster, constantly running around on the verge of a panic attack.  Or maybe I would be Bert, so desperately trying to control everything.  From where I stand: I am afraid  of heights (actually it's more the fear of falling), of driving (crashing).  I struggle to find the faith that if I leap the net will appear.

Joy full - Saturday is my birthday.  Last year, I started a my 365, and today I get to reap the rewards of my work.  It fills my heart with such absolute joy to see my completed project.  I had planned to take a break from the 365, but have changed my mind.  Regardless of how much I have on my plate, I can't imagine my life without a daily picture to go with it.  365.3 - Bring it.

The Ones that Didn't Make it.

I take at least one picture a day for my 365.  Some days there is one, lone, crappy picture that I over edit in order to be happy to put it along side the others.  But, there are lots of days that I take many pictures.  Ones that will probably forever remain in my computer, ones that no one will see.  Here are some of the ones that didn't make it.

Big League - His big sister invited him out to the driveway to play.  That's about as big league as he has gotten.  We haven't put him into an organized sport.  We've been resisting for a number of reasons, but he has asked to play hockey next year.  Ugh, hockey, my least favourite sport.

Shady - I pulled around the back of the drugstore where Kenzie works part time.  Her work isn't in the best neighbourhood.  I can say that because we used to live there when the big kids were small.  In the five years that we lived near there, I don't think I ever once took the shortcut and walked through this parking lot.  When I noticed this shady character waiting outside,  he made me a little nervous.  Turns out he was just a nice boy waiting to walk his girl home.

Birthday Wishes - We invited ourselves for an overnight visit with my Dad and Lynda for his birthday.  Hubby took this picture of my Dad and I.  I know right?  I can't really count it as a 365 if I didn't take it.  No worries, I did take many other pictures on Saturday March 10th, but this was the one I wanted to share here.  It was nice to be able to visit with Dad.

You'll Shoot Yer Eye Out Kid - Grampie bought a BB gun.  He and Charlie had great fun with the target practice.  I hope Grampie gets a chance to fix the drywall in the garage before he gets caught making holes in it.

Tired and Glad to be Home - Between the time change, not sleeping in his own bed and the long drive back and forth to Dad's house Hubby is tired; tired enough ignore his allergies and allow the cat to sit on him.

Clearly, I'm Getting Nothing Done - It's March break and the weather has been fabulous.  I had big plans for the break to get caught up on a few of my English assignments and maybe even get ahead.  I tried, really I did.  I brought my laptop outside to work.  But the warm sunshine and cool breezes did nothing to help my concentration.

Together - It's the ordinary, everyday moments that make my heart skip a beat.  John was checking out some old cars online when Charlie sat down beside him, and started asking his Dad questions about muscle cars.  I love it when I am able to capture a glimpse of the love in my family.

Leap! - An extra day.  How did you spend yours?  It was rainy and cold here all day.  Not much fun at all.  I think the most fun I had was photographing Charlie jumping on his bed.  Why isn't leap day in July?

Tooting My Own Horn - I'm feeling overwhelmed with school.  It's a lot more work than I had anticipated. BUT on the bright side I'm doing awesome.  So far, I have earned A's on all of my assignments.  A couple with 100% and one with a 95%.  Toot Toot!

Sassy Selfie - It's Friday, the sun is out and I'm feeling sassy. Bring on the weekend!

Steak and um, Mushroom Pie for Dinner Tonight -  John and I stopped by the butcher's shop to pick up meat pies for dinner.  We laughed when we saw the "mushroom" that was stamped on top of the pie.  Oh dear.

Walk the Line - Sometimes life feels like a balancing act.  One step in the wrong direction and everything will all come tumbling down.  That's kind of my life right now.  Trying my best to keep my balance.

Snowy Sunrise - I looked out my bedroom window.  The sun was just rising and I saw that it had snowed. I didn't even bother to get dressed into my day time clothes: I slipped my coat and boots over my pajamas and went to capture some of the majestic morning.

Choices -  "You are the sum total of the choices you have made."  Some days this notion excites me.  I mean, it doesn't matter what other crap is going on, I get to choose how to live my life.
Other days the prospect that I have to choose, is completely overwhelming and terrifying.

Family Day - My family and I headed to Valens Conservation Area for family day.  It was such a relaxing warm sunny day, I almost felt as though we were camping.  We shared lots of laughs, and just simply connected again.  We brought the barbecue and had a winter picnic.  None of us felt the cold until we sat down to dinner.  By the time dinner was over all of us were freezing.  We packed up quick, and grabbed a self portrait.  I placed the camera on the hood of John's truck and used the remote.  Click.  Click.  Click.  Portrait done, lets go!  After when I looked at the pictures I noticed they all were out of focus, oops should have turned the truck off before I set the camera on it.
335/365

What a beautiful sunset, I said as we drove home.  John pulled the truck off to the shoulder so I could take a picture.  This has NEVER happened.  It was so sweet of him.  A great way to end our day.

Breakfast For Dinner - Pancake Day!  For the first time ever, I made pancakes from scratch.  I had no idea they were so easy to make, and they were so much better than Aunt Jamima's.  Not quite as good as Papa's, but then he fries his in a pound of lard, making them crisp and tasty.  But the boys assured me mine were a close second.

Strike! - We all went out bowling to celebrate a special man's birthday. Papa turned the big six-oh!  Ray is the kids papa, he is John's stepfather, he is the only "parent" that John has living.  But Ray is so much more than a father figure: he has become a friend.  Ray is always there for us either to lend a helping hand or to offer support.  Appy birday Papa, our favourite story teller, camping buddy and friend.

Ready -  Another white Saturday morning, only this time I wasn't struck by its beauty, and I was happy to see the snow melt by mid afternoon.  I am so ready for spring; I'm ready to put away the heavy layers. I'm ready for tulips and daffodils.  I'm ready for new beginnings and fresh starts.  I'm ready for the winter to melt away.

The View - Perched up in the maple tree this guy stayed just long enough for me to run back in the house, grab my camera and get his picture.  When I looked down at my camera, to adjust my settings, he made a silent escape and I was left wondering if it all really happened.
