I can't believe that I let the patch get so far behind.  Life has been busy!

Mother Bird - A family of robins have nested in the juniper tree outside our front door.  It's a much better choice than where they nested last year, in the tree that hung over the back deck.  Last year, every time we went out back Mommy Bird would get frightened and fly away - leaving her babies to be attacked by the big birds.  I'm happy to see her back, in a better location.

Mix Tape - I was going through some boxes and found the mix tape that my best friend Dawn made me when we were in high school.  I think that I must have listened to this tape a million times (okay maybe more like a hundred times, but it was played over and over.)  These songs were like the soundtrack to that time in my life, and every time I hear one of them, it brings me back.

Starting Point - John and I went out for dinner to celebrate our anniversary.  Because the restaurant was so close to where we lived in our first townhouse, we decided to take a drive by.  We used to sit on that front step with Mackenzie in her Excersaucer and dream about our future.  This was our beginning - our starting point.

Seventeen - When I was seventeen, I fell in love with my husband.  It's crazy to think that now, we have been married for seventeen years.  An accumulation of beautiful, ordinary, every day moments that have built an extraordinary life for our family.  Love you babes.

I Love You Because - This is our 'I love you' frame.  It gets passed around our family with each person who has received it responsible for writing a message to another family member.  Charlie's message to his Dad made my heart melt.  "Dear Dad, I love you because you hang out with me."  So sweet.

Two Wishes - One for me, one for you. What would you wish for?  More time, more money, more patience?  What ever you decide, close your eyes take a big breath, make a wish and dare to believe that it can come true.

Sleepy Sam - I swear, in my next life, I want to come back as a cat.  Okay, I just thought that out for a second; they eat off the floor, poop in a box and drink out of the toilet.  Nevermind.

Second Shot - The Super Moon -  From our back deck, you can see Lake Ontario.  As the super moon was rising over the lake, the whole lake was lit up.  It was beautiful.

Hosta la Vista Baby -  I inherited several hostas when we moved to this house, and since then I have split them around my garden and also shared a bunch with family and friends.  In the spring, I love to watch the way in which the hostas grow: Their tight curls spiral outwards forming rhythmic circles in my garden.

More Spirals - Have you noticed how much black and white there has been in this post.  There is a good reason for it.  I signed up for Tracey Clark's Picture Black and White class.  I have participated in Tracey's Picture classes before.  I loved the community of like minded photographers, the inspirational prompts, and the images I am able to capture during Tracey's classes.  Because my life is so hectic right now, I am following along with pictures taken with my phone and posted on Instagram.

The Little Man - At six, almost seven he is busy.  Busy learning, playing, busy being a kid.  At six, almost seven, he still wants us there - he still looks for us to play with him, to read to him, to help him.  At six, almost seven there is no denying that my 'baby' is growing up.

All day Charlie and I thought that we heard the ice cream truck, and we would go running out to the street to see which direction it was coming from.  Each time we were disappointed because the icecream song we thought we heard was just the neighbors wind chimes.  But at dinner time, as we were just finishing supper, we heard it again.  This time we were right!  Quickly, the kids and I put on our shoes and ran out front, just as the Ice Cream Truck drove up the street.  We were jumping up and down, waving our hands hoping that the Truck would turn around, but it didn't.  So the five of us (even Kenzie in her uniform scrubs) went for a walk flagged it down.

Mother's Day - We broke away from tradition and instead of going to the zoo for Mother's Day, we went to Niagra Falls.  I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard.  It was an awesome day, with my awesome family.  It was hard to pick just one picture to post, so later I will be posting a short video of our day.
